Parametric Slide Tracker - Task Reminder

A parametric task reminder that allows you to keep track of things you need to do daily or monthly. It has little bumps on the slider that keeps the slider in place when moving it around and has a satisfying ‘click’ to it.

I created this to help my family track when our old dog was walked, fed, or given her eye medications.

I provided STL files for trackers with up to 5 slider columns (for daily tasks), and up to 3 columns (for monthly tasks). If you need more, feel free to request or make a copy in OnShape and modify the parameters to add more columns. You can also create a blank tracker with no labels and use that if you have a different number of rows you want.

Update: Fixed an issue in the OnShape document where tracks were not automatically added past 7 rows.

Notes

• For the top labels, I simply use a label maker.
• I added magnets in the back simply by gluing them. In the past I had holes for them but it made the base thicker and take much longer to print

Printing

I used different colored PLA for the different parts. Using a 0.4mm nozzle the sliders should work well. With a 0.6mm the details are lost a bit and the sliders don't click as nice, so I would not recommend. I recommend printing with 'external perimeters first' turned on.

Future Ideas

• Horizontal layout - I realized that most calendars have the weekdays layed out horizontally, so I'll probably make a version with the rows and columns swapped
• Wall mounting holes - some people might choose to hang it on the wall so this should be an easy addition
• Day track - With a big tracker like this, the main challenge is making sure you are looking at the right day on sliders that are far on the right. I want to come up with some way to highlight the current day
