Tool Box Parametric Remix and Gridfinity Storage for Caliper

After printing a box for my micrometer → https://www.printables.com/model/624298-tool-box-parametric-remix-and-gridfinity-storage-f, I decided to 3D print another box to store my caliper and its accessories to replace the original wooden box

I started again from the Tool box parametric https://www.printables.com/model/63528-tool-box-parametric designed by Yanev

I sized the box using Fusion 360 parameters from the original model and design an insert for the micrometer and its accessories.

The insert is designed to store up to 22cm long steel rulers and the Fillet Radius Finders I printed from there →  https://www.printables.com/model/280185-fillet-radius-finder-innerouter-design-reference-r

It fits exactly the box (0.1mm offset) and can be removed, replaced if needed

There is enough space in the lid to put a piece of foam to protect the caliper and block the accessories inside the box

Printing

Note that size has been maximized to be printed on my Prusa MK3S+ bed size (25cm width)

Nothing special for printing. I used Prusament PLA Orange for the insert and Prusament PETG Orange for the lid and the box. I used 0.20mm height with PrusaSlicer standard parameters. Note that PETG is more flexible than PLA and will be better to have more flexible latch. But PLA will work fine as well.

For assembly you'll just need 2 M3x35 screws for the hinges

I'm adding also the Gridfinity Storage version for the caliper that fits in a 6x3 slots frame with ½ height. Note that the height of the storage box is defined to remain stackable when caliper is inside. If you not needed, you can lower the height.

I started from Fusion 360 Gridfinity template. The design is parametric and you can choose the size of the box as you want

Note that I didn't print these Gridfinity versions as I don't use this system yet. But should be easy to print as it's a simple model. I share it here just for the “Gridfinity fans” who I think are many

On top of .stl and .3mf files, I uploaded Fusion 360 .f3d file so you can modify the design and adapt it to your needs
