Hello, this is my first model, a parametric case for screw-on lens filters.
There are two versions:
V1 - Case with a textured base and knurled lid
V2 - Case with just knurled lid
V3 - Case with a knurled base and knurled lid
Comment if you want a different texture or no texture at all!
Recommended Settings:
Layer Height - 0.2mm or 0.1mm - Both work, knurling will look better at 0.1mm
Infill - Anything above 15%
2 Perimeters
In prusaslicer split the model into objects, then place the lid on its top face, for some reason you may have to repair the model, arrange on build plate and finally you are ready to print.
Either let me know your lens filter diameter and height and I will upload a file for you or use Fusion 360's parameters panel to adjust:
filterDiameter
Set this to the exact diameter of your filter, this is not the thread size stated on most filters you must measure it, I used callipers like above.
Most ND and CPL filters have grippy textures on the side, make sure to measure here are this is usually the widest point of the filter.
filterHeight
Set this to the exact height of your filter, I used callipers like above.
wallThickness
This adjusts global wall thickness, adjust if the case is either too bulky or too slim, 2.4mm is a good size.
threadTolerance
This should be fine at 0.2mm but can be increased if you are struggling with the thread.
fingerWidth
Sets the size of the indents so you can pick up the filter, adjust accordingly.
filterDiameterTolerance
Set to 0.4mm as standard, again increase if filter doesn't fit.
filterHeightTolerance
Set to 0.2mm as standard, again increase if filter doesn't fit.
If you are confident with Fusion 360 there are many more parameters that you can adjust, if you need help with anything feel free to leave a comment.
