Does your mid to late 90s Volvo suffer from a flaccid visor? Are you too embarrassed to seek medical attention or take medication to fix this performance issue? Have no fear, you can quietly print this clip in the privacy of your own home. Ordering the needed parts can be done with Amazon in non-discript packaging preventing your nosey neighbors from knowing your secret.
Probably one of the most annoying and prevalent issues with these cars is a poorly designed sun visor. There really is no proper way to fix them short of replacement for at least $100. Since I’m cheap, but I also like to have stuff that work, I designed this visor clip. This will keep the visor in the “up” position and can be left in place when actively using the visor. The design has taken a few months and multiple iterations to keep it as slim as possible and still strong enough to keep the visor out of the line of site. This has been tested and used on my 1997 Volvo S90 (with sunroof). If you don’t have a sunroof on your car, this won’t work. To further enhance this design, you may opt to glue a rubber band on the contact surface of the visor portion of the clip to aid in retention. I’ve been using this version for a few weeks now and I haven’t had any issues with the clip falling off. I would recommend printing this in ABS or even nylon/CF due to the heat levels found in interiors of cars during the summer. PLA is not going to retain its shape even in mild heat.

The magnets used here are the ones that have performed best. I've tried multiple different version but none of them were as strong as these. There is a single layer (0.2mm) skin that separates the ferrous plate from the magnet which is just enough to reduce the strength while keeping just enough to make this work.

I would recommend super glue being used to lock the washer into place. There is no need to glue the magnet in place unless you feel that it might pop out. Since the pulling force is towards the visor clip, it should stay in place.
