Description

PDF

This is a press-fit Pi 5 case, with customisable options for vents and ports, that also supports the optional active cooler.

V1.1 has more tolerant clearances, less crush ribs and a slight taper to the longer pins.

V1.2 has no specific changes to V1.1 other than the addition of embossed Octoprint and Raspberry Pi logos.

Tested on the real thing, and if you are wondering how many prototypes? This many…

Custom Configuration

Load the 3mf file into your favourite slicer and you will see all the combinations exist at once. Clearly this is not what you want, so go delete the elements for both the top and bottom parts that you don't need!

Pi 5 Lid and Pi 5 Base are the minimum printable parts, do not remove them.

Delete any of the following parts if you do not require these features:

  • Top/Bottom Hexes or Slits choose which you prefer but don't use both on the lid or both on the bottom at the same time
  • Mount has holes for M3 screws or bolts, in case you want to bolt or screw your Pi 5 to something
  • Camera 1 and Camera 2 are slots for the two camera ribbon cables
  • PCIe is a slot for a PCIe ribbon cable (alas I don't have one so this is the only thing not tested)
  • GPIO is for a ribbon cable that exits through the top part of the case, you can combine it with GPIO Cutaway if you want the side of the case to be missing too

The below example is Pi 5 Base, Bottom Hexes and Mount, next to Pi 5 Lid, Top Slits, Camera 1, Camera 2, PCIe and Top Slits.

Print Settings

Works best with a 0.4mm nozzle, default settings should be fine. I prototyped it with a larger nozzle size but the press-fit didn't work properly, but was super happy with a smaller size.

Requires no supports.
