My son wanted to be a Shy Guy for Halloween this year, so I whipped up this mask for him.
The lenses can be quite delicate so take care while removing the support material. I had good results using organic supports with the lenses rotated 30° off the bed. It can be quite tricky to remove the supports from the eyes if they are printed too steeply. Snap off the support trunks before trying to pull them off the print. I have added the individual lens files and the pair of lenses so you can play around and find the best orientation that works for you.
The mask works well rotated between 45° and 90° off the bed; my best prints used 60° of rotation from the bed. Again, organic supports were used and were incredibly easy to remove.
After preparing the prints, glue or weld (I used my soldering iron set to 220 °C) the lenses and mouth grille in place and attach an elastic strap to the loops. Cover the mouth grille and the forehead rest with self-adhesive felt or foam, I used an open cell low density urethane foam with sticky back that I had around.
There are definitely improvements to be made, but this works for a quick Halloween mask. Total actual print time ~15 hours for everything using 0.2mm layers with a 0.6mm nozzle on a mk3s. Printed in cool white and black,
