Awesome design

Pretty cool design overall. Some things I didn't find too appealing and the major one was the amount of supports it would require due to the protrusions on the outside portion of the clamshell halves.
Yes, I modified this to make it print the way I wanted it to and to put handles on it, etc... I actually fully redesigned the clamshell halves, I didn't modify the original STLs but instead redesigned them in fusion.
Front clips were also extended by 1.5mm to make them close properly since they were too short when printed to spec from the original model.
Okay, all that said, unless the original designer provides me with permission, don't ask for my files since his license doesn't allow remixing.
Anyways, enjoy, I think it came out pretty well.
The sides, handles, side accents, clips, and bottom bumpers are all printed in ASA. The clamshell halves (white parts) are printed in Polymaker PLA Pro. Hardware is kind of the same...I used M3 screws with anodized counter-sink washers where I could and used heatset M3 inserts wherever I could. The only area the hardware is truly the same is on the front clips and the back hinges.

Very cool! Would pair well with the Starfield Chronomark watch :)

@skola28 I was about to buy one, but the reviews where not so good. I do love how it looks!
@SMACKMAX ha! I've heard the same, just a tiny FOMO on my part not having one. Big Starfield fan.
Love the design! Is there any description of which bolt goes where? I don't want to start shoving them into places they shouldn't be.
Great design, I wasn't able to fit all of the screws quite yet but It looks awesome!
I am having trouble finding m4 by 40mm screws would 20mm screws work instead? Also what are the counter sunk screws for? (edited)
This is great!
Nice model! Please tell me the internal dimensions of the container?
Anyone have a picture of print orientation with supports for the main shells?
@Graham_1403971 I was wondering this myself, if I print sideways it requires supports along the face of the shells.. If I print right side up, almost all of the printing is the supports.. (edited)
@tonyz I printed them sideways (as second picture) but the only support needed is between the ridges, so only 2x 1cm of support needed @Graham_1403971 also the indents dont really need support imo
Not to sound dumb, but can someone post a photo or a link to what is meant by "Cylinder Head Bolts (4x40)"? Does that mean M4x40mm? I'm familiar with the long bolts to attach a cylinder head to an engine block, but I'm a little stuck on the sizing. Thank you for your help!
Edit: As an example, are we talking Bolt Head Size (4mm) x Thread Length (40mm)? (edited)
Now that I have found that they are cheese head screws, Ebay has metric tonnes of them. and the brass acorn cap nuts. Cheaper than Scamazon.
Very nice model, I didn't have grey so i tried a military green approach, I like your model very much!!!

Now the family is complete. And like the smaller ones, the big brother is also a great design.
BUT... I had some issues. It would be great if you tell in the description which screw where to go. Just as a service.
I had problems with the alignment of the inner screw hole to the bottom right watch insert. I measured, and this hole is slightly off to the others. I made a long hole in the insert.
Please don't misunderstand me, I love the crate!
Thank you for your great work! As promissed... PP is on the way ;-)
Greetings from Austria! 👋
PS: What are the two holes at the inner side of the lid for? (edited)
@Philip Ah, it's so awesome to see my designs out in the wild like this. Donations are greatly appreciated and have been added to my most recent filament order :D
Regarding your questions: The inner holes are for a lid insert that I have yet to design; I'm not sure what to store there yet. The watch box was the first 'real' project I shared, and I wasn't expecting so many people to be interested, so it wasn't designed to be easily shareable. Each insert has separate files because I made a mistake somewhere in the design, which misaligned the holes. When inserted in the correct order, it shouldn't have any issues. Future projects will be more user-friendly for others to print my stuff :)"
