Super Mario - night light - figurine

Two versions of Super Mario as a figurine and night light standing.

The model is around 8cm high.
I created it as a small present/give away for a children's birthday party.

The pedestal has a cylindric opening: 24mm in diameter, 17mm deep.
So that a small USB LED light fits in. Like these here: https://a.co/d/j72Ntxk
Of course, I used a transparent filament to make the light shine through.

I really like the printed result. I used automated organic supports, which were easy to remove.
Then I painted the figurines with acrylic paint. I am not much of an artist, but adding paint make the result even look better.

With the USB light on, it looks a little odd, though. You can see the each stroke of the brush. Even tried to prepare the models with paint primer. With no difference in the outcome.

I would like to see some makes. Maybe you are more successful with the painting and could give me some hints? Thanks
