The quest 3 controller doesn't track well when attached to the IBCricket Bat's default adapter since the bat covers the controller occluding the sensors from VR goggles.

The model adapter moves the controller to the backside of the bat such that it is always visible for the headset sensors. This prototype works well for tracking and playing the Ibcricket game on Quest 3. The controller does sit a little bit away from the bat, you will need to carefully adjust the bat grip (calibrate) in the game before playing.

Additional things you will need:

  1. IBCricket Bat (obviously).
  2. Velcro strap or zip ties to secure the adapter on the bat.
  3. Recommended - a strip of rubber grip to ensure the adapter doesn't slide once mounted on the bat (I just cut it out from the old bat grip I had lying around).
  4. 2x M3(10mm) Inserts.
  5. Your existing IBCricket Bat holder.

Steps to assemble:

  1. Print the model
  2. Attach the 2xM3(10mm) inserts into the 3D Printed adapter.
  3. Remove the old snap on attachment for the controller holder. Keep the base with the two Screws.
  4. Attach the IBCricket controller base holder (step 3) by screwing the two screws in the inserts as shown in the attached pictures.
  5. Set the assembled adapter on the backside of the cricket bat about 1/3rd of the way below the handle. Recommend using some form rubber grip as an insert in between the adapter and the bat, this will ensure the adapter doesn't slide or move after assembling.
  6. Position and insert the Velcro strap through the slot in the adapter, and securely attach it around the bat. Ensure that you have maximum tightness with velcro strap so that the adapter doesn't have leeway to slide around. There are additional slots in the adapter to insert zip ties if you'd like to ensure the adapter doesn't move at all.
  7. Insert the Quest3 controller adapter into the holder as shown in the pictures. I like to insert the lanyard and secure it in the round slot of the cricket bat with maximum tightness to ensure the controller doesn't jiggle in the holder. And you are done!
  8. In IBCricket app go to adjust bat grip settings and align the bat with virtual bat to maximize accurate bat tracking for game play.

Note: During adjusting the bat grip you might find the controller sitting outside the bounding box, I've found moving it around carefully and setting it just inside the bounding box works well. I'll look into reducing the distance between the bat and controller in future updates, or feel free to remix this design and improve it.
