This model was made for the Hero 11, but i think it will work for Hero 8/9/10/12 as well.
To replace the broken holder you need:
- Torx T5 Screwdriver
- 1mm x 15mm rod (steel, copper, …) //Either try buying it of the internet, or use standard 1,5 mm² copper wire and sand it down a little to make it fit.
- 3D printed part
Steps:
- Unscrew 4x T5 Screws from the base.
- If the original rod broke, make sure to remove any broken bits from the middle section.
- Fit the printed part and insert the 1mm x 15mm rod. The rod should be a tight fit.
- Make sure, the rod is fully inserted and nothing is sticking out either side. Otherwise it won't fit into the GoPro.
- Wiggle the new part back and forth a little to make sure it works.
- Screw it back into the base of the GoPro.
Print instructions:
- 0.1 mm Layer height. The smaller the better, since the tiny 1.5mm hole needs to be precise
- min. 3 perimeters
- 100% infill
- I printed it in ASA, but feel free to try different materials
