This model was made for the Hero 11, but i think it will work for Hero 8/9/10/12 as well.

To replace the broken holder you need:

  • Torx T5 Screwdriver
  • 1mm x 15mm rod (steel, copper, …)    //Either try buying it of the internet, or use standard 1,5 mm² copper wire and sand it down a little to make it fit.
  • 3D printed part

Steps:

  1. Unscrew 4x T5 Screws from the base.
  2. If the original rod broke, make sure to remove any broken bits from the middle section.
  3. Fit the printed part and insert the 1mm x 15mm rod. The rod should be a tight fit.
  4. Make sure, the rod is fully inserted and nothing is sticking out either side. Otherwise it won't fit into the GoPro.
  5. Wiggle the new part back and forth a little to make sure it works.
  6. Screw it back into the base of the GoPro.

Print instructions:

  • 0.1 mm Layer height. The smaller the better, since the tiny 1.5mm hole needs to be precise
  • min. 3 perimeters
  • 100% infill
  • I printed it in ASA, but feel free to try different materials
