I designed this part a few months ago for a friend's aunt. Office furniture is kind of a big deal where I live and it is fair to say the chair was made locally. So, it was only right to fix it locally as well.
As you can see in the pictures, the original part cracked under the lip. I printed a test part in PLA but the part used in the repair was printed with PC.
The repair is simplicity itself, just drop the part in the hole of the base, put the chair back on top and secure with the original clip.
It has held up well so far, but I do think that PC is probably necessary for that to hold true.
