If you power your LED strips using the Iluminize LED controller and a Meanwell power supply, you can use this case to hide the wiring and the components away. It has one smaller hole at the top, to power the LED strips and one larger hole on the side for the power cord to the power supply. Closes up with a magnetic lid to allow for easy maintenance.

Prints nicely in PLA in the default model orientation without supports at a layer height of 0.20 mm.

Instructions

  1. Print each of the top and the bottom parts once
  2. Push the magnets into the 4 holes of the bottom and top parts that match each other
    • Make sure you pay attention to the polarity of the magnets, so you can put the cover on
    • The magnets should have a friction fit. If it feels too tight, try pushing them in with pliers. If the magnets don't stay in, use some super glue.
    • Make sure not to push the magnets in too far, the holes are 4 mm deep to account for tolerances in the magnets
  3. Install the threaded inserts into the bottom part
    • Install the 4x M3 threaded inserts on the bottom in the 4 holes
    • Install the 2x M2 threaded inserts on the side in the 2 holes
  4. Connect all the wires you need to the Iluminize LED controller
  5. Screw down the Iluminize LED controller using the 2 M2 screws to the side of the bottom part into the M2 threaded inserts you previously installed
  6. Screw down the Meanwell LED power supply using the 4 M3 screws to the bottom of the bottom part into the M3 threaded inserts you previously installed
