Here is my design to replace the handle for our favorite ice cream scoop after it broke off.
There is a small hidden dovetail feature that keeps the two halves from wobbling.
There's also a small pocket in the dovetail that you could fill with Epoxy when assembling for a more permanent hold, should you desire.
Hardware required:
The 6-32 model needs two 6-32 x 3/8" screws and two 6-32 nuts. These ones fit the holes in the scoop the best.
The M3 model needs two M3 x 10mm screws and two M3 nuts.
The M4 model needs two M4 x 9mm screws (This size seems to be unpopular. You may need to go with M4 x 8mm or M4 x 10mm screws instead.) and two M4 nuts. You will also need to drill out the holes in the scoop a little bit to fit the M4 screws.
Print settings used (and designed for):
Printer: Maker Select v2
Layer height: 0.2mm
Infill: 50%
Raft: Not neccessary
Supports: Not necessary
Material: PLA (I've read that it's not food safe, but we're not eating off of the handle, so it's fine. ;)
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
