I realy like the flexible spool holder from @Madaco. I've already used it with my Prusa Mini+, and now also with the new Prusa MK4 because I prefer not to attach heavy spools to the printer's crossbar. Also, this avoids limiting the print height.
I have observed more than once that the spool was pulled off the holder because the force required for this was less than separating the tightly wound strands of filament from each other. Now, with the spools positioned directly above the printer, such an accident can have fatal consequences if a 2 kg filament spool falls from above onto the printer.
So i designed an extension that prevents the spool from being pulled off. At the same time, the extension serves as a filament guide. And the second, narrow hole is designed to securely park the filament when it is not in use.
The model is suitable for spools with diameters ranging from 200 to 300 mm.

"Tiltable Spoolholder Extension Lack Enclosure Lid" serves a completely different purpose but served as a template for my design, which is a further extension for “Spool holder for Prusa Mini”.
