After years of use and dishwashing, the plastic handles on pot lids degrade in quality. I've copied the design of a pot lid handle of 40 (!) years old that was desintegrating and created it in ABS plastic. Let's see whether it stands the test of time. If not, a few cents of plastic will get me a new one...

Instructions

I printed it in black ABS, since it needs to withstand high temperatures (~100°C) and alkaline chemicals (dishwasher). It was printed at 245°C with 0.12 mm layer height at 30 mm/s to get a clean finish and prevent delamination. The bed was set at 100°C.

Note: I printed it with a brim to prevent warping. Usually that is working great, but this time it was really hard to get it off the bed. Even with coolant spray I couldn't get it off. I ended up ruining my Kapton foil. Point of advice: use a raft or adapt the SCAD file to have a smaller surface area in contact with the bed. Maybe I will make a new version soon.
