The gimbals of the old Multiplex Profi mc transmitter series are a good basis of a DIY or retrofit transmitter project. Unfortunately they use 5kOhm sliding potentiometer as trim inputs which no modern transmitter mainboard (e.g. Turnigy 9XR) can use anymore.

With these trim switch block you can snap out the slider pot, snap in 2 microswitches instead (use 6x6mm types with 3.4mm button height) and can plug this into the original gimbal. You can fit the gimbal then into the original transmitter housing because there is no change in packaging.

I use 4 of these trim switch blocks in my "mc2020 / 9XR retrofit project" since months and they work perfect!
