A friend has a bird seed feeder in his garden. The front plate and feeder caps were worn out over time due picking by the birds. I designed some repair pieces to make it usable again. Additionally I provided the front plate in case you want to print it instead of getting it from a transparent material.
Parts needed for assembly:
- 1x front_plate (print or make from transparent plate material)
- 1x printed_washer
- 1x printed_pin
- 2x feeder_cap
- 1x M3 washer
- 1x M3x14 screw
- 1x M3 threaded insert
Print instructions:
- Filament of your choice, I recommend PETG, ASA or ABS for use outside.
- Layer height of your choice
- Supports needed for the feeder_cap, rest without supports.
- You might want to scale up the feeder cap for a snug press fit.
Assembly:
- Insert the threaded inset into the pin.
- Install the pin with pin on the outside and the printed washer on the inside.
- Insert the feeder caps.
- If you find the feeder caps to loose you can fixate them with some super glue.
- Alternatively check your shrinkage and scale in the slicer for a snug press fit.
I would be happy to see some of your makes posted :)
