This is a sliding type lock with three separate double dials that can be set to any number 00-99. I have made this as a part of sort of escape room like puzzle game for my wedding. The three numbers were results from other tasks, so this safe worked as a sort of physical checker, that the other tasks were solved correctly. The ugly piece of wood that holds the lock (I didn't have the time to make the box nice) has a small drawer inside that can't be pulled out unless the bolt is pulled inside the lock. The bolt can't be pulled unless the combination is right. Of course it is a plastic lock, so security is nonexistent and it is also quite easy to decode LockPickingLawyer-style (but also quite fun, you can even get a false set).

Printing instructions:

Tested with PLA filaments.

  1. There are three dials, so each dial part is printed three times, other parts once.
  2. Add a little bit of wood glue to the positions, where DialHolders will sit. Add dial holders and make sure the aligment is as smooth as possible. (You can use Dial Lock to hold everything in place while the glue sets.)
  3. Assemble each dial, try that everything works well and if so, use the key or the dial lock to hold lock in the opened position. Glue in the disks with numbers, this will be your opening combination.
  4. You can prevent people from disassembling the dials by adding a little bit of glue to the bottom of pin hole.
