I wanted to put this AP outdoor, even though it's not outdoor rated (do it at your own risk, of course), the place where it's mounted already has a roof, to it will not rain on it, but this mount will protect it even more.

I've also wanted to put it on a 40mm box (those used for alarm motion sensors, etc) so I've made the mounting point more flexible.

I've also added a mounting point for a security camera, taking advantage of the PoE out of this AP. (with only one cable run, you power the AP and the Camera)

In this case the camara is an Annke C800, but the mounting point it's pretty common on these cameras, it might fit a lot of models.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

  • Added a cover to protect from the elements if installed outside
  • Made the mounting point flexible to allow installation in normal outlets and in smaller boxes (40mm)
  • Made an optional mount for a security camera
