I usually use a small crescent wrench to true disc brake rotors, but I don't always carry one, and the metal wrench can mar a rotor if you're not careful. I made this plastic one for field use. It will let you take minor bends out of your rotor. I also put an 8mm / 10mm hex nut cutout in the handle for use as a wrench. Obviously, you're printing this from plastic, so set expectations accordingly. The first one I printed was a bit too flexible, but I still used it to true a warped rotor back to silence with 2 minutes work and nothing but the caliper itself for my check mechanism.

You want this stiff, so my suggestions:

  • Print with the face with the smaller nut cutout down!
  • Use PLA
  • Top and bottom faces 1mm thick
  • 4 layer perimeters
  • 50% infill

This yields a pretty stiff little tool that weighs 10g.
