The B&W P6 speaker has the iconic external tweeter pod. The tweeter is protected by a mesh “basket” that is connected to the pod housing by a retaining ring that snaps onto ridges on housing. Most P6s on the used market no longer have these baskets nor the retaining rings.
I recently acquired a set of these speakers and was pleasantly surprised that one of the tweeter pods still had the retaining ring attached. So, I modeled a new ring. After 5+ iterations, I created this model that fits identically to the original.
I hope it will be useful to others!
Example in pics printed on MK4 in Prusament PLA Galaxy Black am 0.2mm layer height.
UPDATE: I've added a “deeper” ring (5mm vs 3mm). I do not plan to try and fabricate the mesh baskets, but instead will stretch speaker grill cloth. I will mount the fabric to the deeper ring to provide clearance to the tweeter driver.
UPDATE: Added pictures of the 5mm ring with speaker fabric stretched. I suspect some edge diffraction is being introduced, but my ears in my room can not tell the difference with the rings on or off.
