Hamster burrows by popular brands are massively over-priced (€25 for a couple of sheets of laser-cut balsa wood?) so I created this simple hamster-hide that you can 3d-print at home on even small printers like the Prusa Mini! Also suitable for dwarf-hamsters, mice and rats but you may want to scale the model up and down. This model should be suitable for Syrian/Golden and Chinese hamsters in it's current form.

Printing:

The model comes comes in 3-parts. You don't need to join them to each other, but I recommend that if you do, you use filament welding (for example with a 3d pen) rather than super-glue which has the potential to be toxic to your hamster. If you wish, you can print as many as you like by just adding more left and right parts once you have printed the three main parts

All of the parts are orientated the right way for printing. Most printers should be able to handle the middle part without supports. Due to the thickness, this model is all-perimeters so throw on your biggest nozzle and set the layer-height nice and big and you should be absolutely fine.

Printing in PLA should be fine for use around small animals like mice, hamsters and rats but you should definitely avoid higher-temperature materials like ABS and anything containing glitter, carbon fibre and the like (best option is probably PLA+wood filaments!)

Updates:

Added a corner piece and an end piece with no holes.
