This a follow focus designed to mount to standard 15mm camera rail rods. This will work with normal cinema lenses with mod 0.8 gearing. For lenses without gears adjustable gear belts can be purchases. I have also had success at 3D printing them as well. This adds a way to control the focus, zoom, or aperture of a lens with a stepper motor. This is designed to work with the AquaMOCO system but should work with other rigs as well.
Use a soldering iron to insert the M5 threaded insert to the bottom of the follow-focus-base.
Attach the stepper motor to the base with four M3 6mm screws. Make sure the stepper motor wire connector is facing towards the base’s camera rail slot.
Place the large gear on the base’s shaft.
Push the small gear on the stepper motor shaft and align with the larger gear. This might require a hammer.
Place the lid on top of the entire assembly.
Use the M3 12mm screw to attach the base shaft to the lid. Use a reasonable amount of force while screwing. The screw will self tap into the plastic.
Use the M3 8mm screw to attach the base to the lid near the hole for the camera rail.
Insert the M5 hex screw into the follow-focus-fastener.
Screw in the M5 hex and follow-focus-fastener assembly into the whole at the bottom of the assembly.
