Pebble Wiper V2.1 for Tool Changing 3D Printers
I was tired of unreliable, time and filament-wasting purge blocks which made the tool changing 3d printer experience much less convenient. The Pebble Wiper system instead extrudes a small amount of filament (a pebble) onto a small flat platform, cools this filament, and then wipes it off the platform using a servo. If any filament is leftover on the nozzle, the hotend then does a brushing routine over a soft silicone brush. The Pebble should fall into the “Pebble Bucket” which simply slides onto the bottom of the Wiper and can hold several prints worth of Pebbles.
I also created a version of the Pebble Wiper which uses a lead screw to raise and lower the platform along a linear rail. This version is available as a remix:
I recommend the height adjustable version as it can adjust to different hotend lengths and allows you to use a more reliable, however complex, wiping routing.
I have included SLDPRT, STEP, and STL files for regular E3D Tool Changers using both fancy and cheap servos.
BOM for Pebble Wiper V2.1:
Printed PW V2.1 (I recommend printing in Polycarbonate, but other materials may work just as well, depending on your use case)
Servo (I recommend the KST DS215MG, a servo lead extension may be required)
Silicone Brush
Adhesive Backed Metallic Strip
*Optional: Metal Servo Arm

For the metallic strip any adhesive-backed metallic foil should work, such as HVAC foil tape.
