I really liked @blackboots2_227840 LM2596 case design, but it didn't quite fit the version of the LM2596 converters I had in hand, namely, the board and case screws weren't aligned (there was about a 1mm difference) and the top case wasn't tall enough to close due to component's height differences.

I also wanted to mount/screw the case to a Lack table, so I needed some place to insert “feet” for screws.

Version without the feet is also available.

Printed mine out of PETG as I'm unsure of how much heat it will have to handle, but ASA is probably a better option, if you have it.

Parts list:

  • 2x M3 18mm screws
  • 2x M3 nuts
  • 2x M3 6mm screws (for the board)

Change list:

  • Shortened the case by about 1mm (using PrusaSlicer cut tool, nothing too fancy or too precise)
  • Made the case top taller to fit different board with taller components (again, PrusaSlicer scale tool, increasing Z by about 10%, but nothing too precise)
  • Added feet to screw the case to surfaces
