I need to store equipment for work in a self storage room.  The door to the self storage supports two types of locks.  In my case, the first is a lock provided by the owners of the self storage building, and I'm not sure I trust them to not have a key for that lock.

If you look at the included photos, this next part will make more senseā€¦ ;)

The second lock that can be used (either instead of or in addition to the primary lock) is a normal padlock.  Taking a survey of the storage areas shows that most people don't understand how it works, and they just add a padlock thru the hole provided. (Some do this and don't use the primary lock, which means anyone with access to the building can simply slide the lock over to the left and open the door despite the padlock being there!). Of course, the idea is to put some type of plate in the gap to the left of the hole for the padlock so that the plate cannot be moved if there is a padlock present.  That is the purpose of this model.

I printed it with ProtoPasta's steel-filled metal composite PLA on my Bambu Lab P1P and then annealed it in a spare toaster oven dedicated to such projects (and to baking polymer clay too).  It is pretty, solid, and functional.
