I absolutely wanted to have GiantBrain cable management but found it impossible to install without having to risk pinching the air filter cable.

This remix makes installation a breeze without any risk for pinching, additionally it uses only 3 M3x8 screws and nuts (one fixing part per pair),  4 M3x4 screws for fixing the long and vertical covers, and 2 M3x12 for the air filter + top hatch combo. All screws comes from the rest of the enclosure build.

Since I do not expect people to take this covers up and down daily, I went for a screw-into-plastic design. If a hole gets too big after installing and removing the part many times, just print another one! :D

[UPDATE 28-11-23]

What to print:

  • the 2 long ones go on the bottom left side of the enclosure
  • 2 short on the vertical rise on the left
  • 2 short on the upper back (to the air filtering unit) - two versions available, with cable gap or without (read below)
  • every pair of covers need one supporting element
  • the supplied 3mf has all part needed and an alternative (not selected for print) that can be used if you do not have the air filter option (but again, if you do not have the filter I guess you do not need to install the vertical and back parts anyway)

How to install

  • screw the supporting elements from the inside
  • slide the flat end of each cover on the support element and screw it in place from the outside
  • if you experience difficulties in mounting the parts, here some tips:
    • pre-thread the holes before mounting the covers
    • open / remove the top panel (this REALLY helps)
    • ask for another person to help

The screen shot in slicer shows how the support element and the cover mechanically fits together.
