For reasons that I will never understand, the Gravis Gamepad Pro came with an accessory joystick shaft which screwed into the d-pad to turn it in to a tiny, uncomfortable joystick. To make matters worse, without this shaft attached, there is a gaping hole in the center of the d-pad which has always caused great irritation to my thumb when playing games.
This cover fits flush inside this hole and covers it to restore a smooth surface to your Gravis Gamepad Pro d-pad. No more aching thumbs!
This part is not a friction-fit; it will drop out easily so you don't have to pry it out with tools that could mar your d-pad surface. If, like me, you intend to cast the teeny, useless joystick into the fires of Mt. Doom, I suggest attaching this part with a small drop of hot-melt glue (which can be softened with isopropyl alcohol should you ever want to remove it for some strange reason).
Update: Reduced the height of the insert to make it more flush with the d-pad surface
