My second approach for an easy to use and rarely to clean strainer for floor level shower drains.
This time I replaced the original tube ("TECE Tauchrohr" see pictures) by an own designed one.The new tube is for the siphon-function in combination with a strainer. It has as closed bottom and much small holes to get enough flow. Due to the big room in the strainer, you don't have to clean it often. With the additional handle on top it can be easily pulled out for cleaning it in the washbowl without any tools needed.
Use this only in showers wich are frequently (at least one times per week) used. When too much water evaporates in the drain, the siphon function may not work anymore due to the holes and it could smell in the shower. In this case i would use my other strainer (see link below).

UPDATE V2:
While testing the last month my wife claimed, she's not reaching the bottom with her fingers when cleaning the basket. I reduced the length by 10mm an deleted the first row cutouts. This is necessary so the cutouts are below the water level in the siphon and make the odor trap work. To compensate the missing area of the cutouts the remaining got wider by 1mm and the total flow area is a litte more than in V1.
