The problem

The handle of a nail file broke:

File length: 125mm

File width: 10.8mm

My solution

After a small research I found this model: https://www.printables.com/de/model/85251-nail-file-handle Thanks for the suggestions NOT to design and print the handle laying down, as the layers tend to split horizontally. → Design and print upright

I taped the file on squared paper and scanned it to get good dimensions:

I modelled the file. The handle itself has an offset of the same contour of 0.34mm.

Print instructions

Print upright, so the layers circle around the file.

You will need a big brim:

Outer Brim: 20mm

Paint on support not needed, but give the print more stability.

Infill: 80%

Speed reduced to 50% (e.g. perimeter: 20mm/s on my Ender 3 V2)

Modifications welcome

You can remix or download the cad file from onshape:
