Originally modeled in 2012/2013 for construction from laser cut wood, this is a “stand-off fidelity” 1:144 model of the early 20th century Orfey class destroyer. The pdf was the originally-published format and includes some basic isometric illustrations. At the time it was designed, the model complied with Mid-Atlantic Battle Group (MABG) design regulations and was intended for arming with a single forward bb cannon. The design is intended for sheeting with 1/16" thick soft balsa/silkspan/nitrate dope. It requires a single rudder and propulsion should be via twin screws using 3mm shafts with stuffing tubes.
Note that the stern sub-deck is incorrectly rounded for a fantail but the transom skin is modeled and the deck aligns to the transom.
The step file is such that each individual solid reflects a part to be laser cut from sheet stock. The step file may have vestigial bodies that are redundant to required parts as it has not been updated from the last time that I worked on the model but is included here so that the data needed for others to remix the model for printing and/or higher fidelity is readily available.
