I recently found myself needing some nice chunky "smart buttons" for a project. I loved the original "emergency button" and wanted to make a double set, so I took the model and hacked it up in TinkerCad to make this pair of buttons.
Prints without supports if you orientate it correctly.
There are two middle sections - one with a hole for your USB cable and one without if you want to use it with a battery.
I highly recommend using the “text” button in Prusa Slicer and a colour change to add your own labels to the buttons.
As with the original you just need to add a couple of tactile buttons, add a few strands of wire and a small microcontroller (ESP8266, ESP32 or RP2040) then you can hook it up with HomeAssistant via ESPHome and use it to trigger all your smart home gadgets and automations.
The author remixed this model.
