As soon as I saw Rocco's model I knew I had to build it. Although I wanted the front face to sit flush with the box, and to hide the 4 front facing mounting screws. This mounts using M4x6x6mm inserts and M4x6mm screws. N.B. this design does require using support material for the jamb part, but that should only be necessary for the first 3mm.
I also found that the lack of keying on the lock mounting hole meant I had to tighten the lock mounting nut too tightly, so I modified the face to include a keying, as well as made the fit for the lock quite tight. The main handle shaft hole on the front face was also pretty loose so I shrunk that down to give ~ 0.3mm tolerance so it doesn't wobble as much.
The tolerance on the lock gear was also a little loose for my liking so I modified it to be a tight fit. Again, this is just so you don't need to tighten the locking nut down quite so hard to avoid slipping.
Finally, when originally posted, Rocco's model didn't include the handle so I've modelled something up to suit. Mine has an 8º forward angle for the “handles” (5x 5mmx25mm SS dowels) to give your fingers a smidge more room to hold on.
The rest of the model files and required hardware remain unchanged so can be fetched from the original design.
Thanks Rocco!
