Union Pacific "Big Boy" Locomotive

Here is the 1/15th scale Locomotive that I made for Makerbot in 2013.  It was created to test out their printers.  The locomotive, without the tender (separate build).. is over 6 feet long!!!

This project took about 700 hours to draw ( using copies of blueprints from the Union Pacific Historical Society)….and over 1000 hours to print. 

This model (without the tender) is about 500 pieces and requires at least 10 kg of filament.

The root model is the entire locomotive in one piece, if anyone wants to try to print a tiny version.

Included in the parts Zip file there is an EASM file for assembly reference.  and an Excel spreadsheet listing the part names and quantities to print.
