I needed a longer, bigger version of these crate holders for my new rear rack, so I just extended the existing one and widened the holes.
Based on v7 of the original
This new version will sit on racks with 12mm bars, that are 180ish mm wide. The downward hole is very tight and almost locks into place- takes a bit of force to lock on, but as far as I'm concerned that means it won't pop off while riding. My hope is that the tightness doesn't effect the longevity, but I'll make a wider hole if it does.
This has to be printed on a 300mm wide bed, you may be able to get away with a smaller one if you turn this 45 degrees, but I haven't tested that.
I printed at 90% with honeycomb infill and hilbert curve surfaces- it took 9Hrs and 35 minutes to print. I wanted it to be incredibly strong- and it worked out well, but depending on what you're hauling, you could probably get away with 70% infill and not have a break, especially if using multiple on the rack.
I may wrap this in a silver sheeting so as to reflect some heat. My pair for my old rack ended up warping- though it didn't seem to effect the stability or usability.
After almost a year of using these, there has been not noticeable change to the strength of these, and no warping.
