This is DC Mod for Voron 0.1. It externalizes the PSU (as opposed to having it glued to the underside of the Voron).

Using and External PSU has several advantages:

  1. Safety - No 220V anywhere in the printer. Only 24V DC.
  2. Re-use is possible for any 24V/150W PSU (e.g. Prusa Mini PSU, External Lab PSU, Old laptop PSU, …)

Important caveats:

  1. This is a mod for the V0.1 - won't work on V0.2 since the feet are different length.
  2. This mod is for running your Voron skirtless. (I.e. won't work with Skirts)

You'll need the following parts (or equivalents) as well:

  • Can be found at digi-key.com, mouser.com, farnell.com, arrow.com, etc.
  • Recommend you buy from official retailers, not aliexpress/etc since you are dealing with fairly high wattage levels (Up to 150W).
  1. Power Jack: Tensility 54-00151 (Digi-Key 839-1580-ND) (Link)
  2. On/Off Switch: Wurth 471002268142 (Digi-Key 732-13674-ND) (Link)
  3. 16 or 18 AWG Wire, preferably Silicone insulation. ~10cm long. (Between switch and power jack)
  4. Some heatshrink tubing (For protecting power wires)
  5. Solder + Solder iron

The following are optional:

  1. Compatible Power Plug - e.g. if you are modifying an existing PSU: Tensility 55-00051 (Digi-Key 839-1441-ND) (Link)
  2. Adapter for Prusa Mini PSU: Mean Well DC-PLUG-R7BF-P1J (Link)
