I made a floor waste grate for my bathroom/shower. I didn't want a large recessed panel for the grille, and as I polished the floor by hand there wasn't a good way to have a inset plate that was level with the surrounding floor.
Photos are taken after 6 months of use, printed in yellow PETG @ 100% infill
I painted a little bit of PVC glue on the inside of the pipe at the depth that the retaining/support ring would sit at, and then slid the retaining ring into place while clipped into the grille part. I put a little bit of wire threaded through the grille, and taped that to the floor to stop it falling deeper into the pipe before the glue set.
I sanded the top slightly once installed because my floor is not quite level at the drain
It's removable for cleaning (although I haven't cleaned it for 4 months), doesn't seem to get blocked up much, and I have stood on it every shower since installation with no sign of it breaking. I printed a few variations before I got the perfect fit, so I imagine you can just rescale it in the slicer if you find it's too loose etc. There is some variation possible in the modelling software, but I haven't gone to much effort to make it saleable with the hexagonal grid and chamfers etc.
I'll print a DW40 version for my sink and possibly update here if I remember.
