Wanted a cover for my Weho S-400-24 power supply, which also would allow me to install one or more XT-60 connectors to connect it to my drone battery chargers. Since I didn't find anything matching my needs online I took an existing project and modified it to my liking.

Features:

  • IEC 320 C14 plug with power switch (AC-01A model) to allow keeping the psu connected to the wall without being on
  • two flanged XT-60 connectors (XT-60E-F) which remove unused cables dangling off the psu when not in use
  • ventilation holes to keep the PSU cool
  • professional look

How to print:

orient the part standing up and print without supports. The connector slots should be oriented vertically on the build plate

Installation:

  • install 6 brass threaded inserts to allow securing the various connectors with m3 bolts. The holes are designed to fit an M3x5x4 insert
  • prepare the XT-60 connectors, by soldering cables to them and crimping fork connectors on the other side
  • mount the connectors by passing the cables through the respective holes first, then secure them with M3 bolts (FHCS preferred but anything will work)
  • wire up the IEC plug (here is an example). I avoided soldering cables here, and instead used spade connectors on the plug and fork connectors for the psu side. If you followed the diagram and find that your power switch light is always on, swap the wires to the opposite side of  the switch!
  • mount the IEC plug by passing the cables through the hole first, then secure it with M3 bolts as before
  • screw down every fork connector to its respective terminal
  • slide the cover up around the psu, to the point where you end up with two of the PSU threaded holes aligned with the printed cover slots. Use two short M4 bolts (I chose to also add two washers) to secure the cover. Make sure the bolts are short enough to not touch any live component!
