I wanted to make the official ender 3 direct drive upgrade a bit lighter, using a pancake stepper and use a dual gear instead. Nothing fancy, but using components widely available and cheap.
I printed mine using a sample of Extrudr GreenTec Pro Carbon, as its super stiff and temperature resistant. Probably overkill, as the first iterations I made in PLA were already quite sturdy (though may warp when a motor gets too hot, for instance due to too high voltage…)
Stupid me forgot to remember leaving a cutout for the CR touch bracket. I am using a different one, which also works, but is only mounted with one screw. That's the kind of Pfusch i would like to improve on in a next iteration. Also, assembly could be easier. It's a bit fiddly to get on the carriage.
