This tool is inspired by the Universal T Handle which I have used for years.

I recently had a series of jams and decided I needed a faster way of doing the screws holding my Prusa MK3 extruder. I wanted to use my power screwdriver but all of my hex bits were too short.

It came to me that I could use my longer hex keys if the T handle had a bit on the backside to fit my screwdriver. So, I designed this adapter in Fusion 360 with a ¼” hex bit adapter hole. I have a ¼” (6.35mm) straight hex bit which works great.

I also made a variation for a ¼” square drive hex bit in case you don’t have the straight hex bit.

Then, since I was on a roll, I designed plastic bits you can glue in (if you don’t have the metal bits).

It will work with Allen wrenches up to 3mm or 1/8”.

I have tested this with a ¼” drive ratchet, a screwdriver that uses different bits, and my power screwdriver. I can’t recommend this with a power drill, as they spin too fast and have too much torque – very likely to break or damage something.

It is a fast, easy print, with no support (any material should work).  The threads may need a little work. A friend recommended WD-40 or wax. WD-40 worked great for me.
