An alternative way of mounting a 7inch display to a VZBot (or similar large format Corexy printer).

The “official” BOM calls for a 5inch BTT Pi display, but due to the pi shortage more people are using pi alternatives such as the BTT CB1 which are not compatible with such DSI displays, and the HDMI alternatives won't fit the proper VZbot housing so I just made my own.

I went for a side mount as I like the look, it reminds me of the vertical side mounted LCDs you often see on industrial machines.

The screen I used is just a generic “Raspberry Pi 7” touchscreen" from amazon, the type with the little screw tabs poking out of each corner, just make sure the ports will line up with the cut out section in the bottom. I didn't include any access for the backlight buttons etc. as in this use case I personally have never needed to use them, just kept it simple.

It will fit on a VZbot 330 bed but does need a fair bit of support.

I printed in Extrudr “metallic” PETG

Thanks to Thingiverse User “GrowingSurvival” for their model which I used as a template for the mounting holes.
