Update to v1.2 26-Jun-23
Changes:
- Further adjustments to the part that holds the plates to save a little more filament and make a little wider - only updated the 5w so far.
- “Basepates” that fit the 4w and 5w ones, including one that is deeper that I used for BigFigs.
- New joiner design that is an easier fit, uses less filament and only has pegs at the ends. Partial point here is to also make clean display lines between different sets.

Update to v1.1 10-Jun-23
Changes:
- Thinned out the backs to 1.6 to save some filament.
- Made some cross/t joiners and made them a little bit easier to remove
- Added “big fig” for the 5w ones - they are 1.5x the height of the others, fit 3 across.
--------
I was inspired by the great LEGO Minifig Hexagons by CasadeBricks. Initially I started with the idea of having a better way to keep the minfigs in place better, but quickly decided that I could pack a lot more in by moving to a rectangular shape. But mine are built from scratch.
Differences/improvements:
- There is a little notched shelf at the back to hold the baseplate, and it works with smooth ones or those that have pegs all the way back. Should hold them firmly without making them hard to remove. They are notched themselves so you can push the ones baseplates with pegs in between them.
- They have a full back, and key holes so you can attach to the wall.
- I wanted a more smooth edge aesthetic, so i simplified the notches, inspired by other designs I've seen here. Still don't find them to be perfect, you need little pieces to hold them together.
Other Details:
- I included files from 1w to 5w, from 1h to 3h.
- The standard 1h should fit 99% of minifigs.
- The wider ones let you slip some extra ones in, its pretty easy to fit 7 in the 5w. A set of 16-20 fits easily in the biggest one (5wX3h). Sets of 12 fit nicely in the 5wX2h.
- I stopped at the biggest one my printer could print.
- Extra tall ones could easily fit in the 2h models, the pieces that hold the base plates there shouldn't interfere.
- I originally printed these with the base plate holders all the way around (4 sides) figuring I could hold accessories or other things. You can see this in some of the photos. After I realized it was a waste of filament, I stopped doing that.
- I'd love to hear comments and suggestions, I plan to keep working on these. For one thing I want to make sure the few BigFigs I have can fit in, and maybe some other things as well.
I've been printing in my BambuLab X1C using PLA. Default settings. I do find that the biggest ones can have some problems with coming off the bed so been using a small brim.
