If you have any ideas to add to make this a great cup holder let me know in the comments.
This is a cup holder I designed to go on a kayak. I could not find a very good cup holder that I liked online so I attempted to make my own. This design is not great but its something lol.
It is made to be fastened with 2 x ¼-20" x 1-¼" bolts and nuts. Id use butterfly nuts (if the nut side is accessible) if you want to be able to easily remove or tighten the cup holder without tools. If you don't mind permanent installation then using nylon nuts with a washer would be my go to.
Smaller bolt hole is made for a 3mm diameter bolt (needs to be small enough to fit in box cutter blade without drilling a hole in the blade). This bolt is used to hold down the razor blade on the bottom side of the cup holder, along with a washer, only on the fully loaded model. This blade was put there as a request to cut fishing line.
5/31 - Printed the Yak-Cup original model at 100% scale and it was too small to fit the cans. Printing again at 102% to see how everything fits up. This may be a e-steps issue with my machine or might have used exact dimensions on certain sizes instead of oversizing.
6/1 - Printed at 102% scale and cans fit in nicely (standard soda cans and slim beer can). Still working on the sizing of the slot for the razor blade. Just some minor tweaks to get things right.
6/6 - Resized the model to be able to be printed at 100% scale. It no longer needs to be printed at 102% scale.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
