The Holy Grail (aka the Cup of Christ)

A friend of mine wanted a replica of the Holy Grail from the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.  The models I found online didn't seem to capture the true shape of the prop used in the movie.

An original prop used in the movie was being auctioned off and one of the photos contained the cup at a slight angle with a ruler next to it.  I imported the file into Plasticity, scaled it properly and created a path of the outline of the cup to create the obj file ready for printing.

You'll notice that the bottom of the cup in my model is more beveled than the prop, this is so I could roll up a thin cylinder of modeling putty and sculpt the bottom to match the original hand made and thrown clay look.

Print it. Prime it. Sculpt it. Base coat. Details. Gold leaf. Now you have a replica worthy of display!
