This is my attempt at recreating the Axe Head found on the Otzi mummy. They aren't exact copies, but similar in size and weight.

The blade in the pictures is Otzi 2, the part of the mold for the other blade cooled too fast due to my narrow runners.

Both models come in complete and split versions, the pre-offset pegs worked for me when connecting the split halves but I included a peg version the exact size and depth of the holes for you to scale to your preferred offsets.

I used the split versions to create my sand molds and then carved in my own spout and runners. Looking back I should've made the runners wider and included a reservoir close to the mold to prevent shrinkage.

The edge comes out looking sharp but for it to be functional it needs to be work hardened. Some of this can be done before setting it in the handle, but hammering in the blade will flatten and work harden the edge as well meaning you'll have to rehammer the blade to get a sharp profile.

The blade is seated in a slot cut into a tree trunk near where a branch comes out.
