Logitech G305 conversion to G9x geometry. Printed on Elegoo Saturn MSLA using Sirayatech Fast Smoky Black and 10mL of Blu to increase durability.
Print should work fine for FDM but will require a lot of support, PETG recommended as a material. SLS should work as well (I will report back).
I designed the geometry based on photos of the g9x side profiles and am pretty happy with the similarity in grip, but there's always additional work that could be done. If someone wants to make further changes, all STEP files except the bottom are attached (that was made with STLs instead).
Final mouse weight: 60.8g
Please be prepared to sand or file things as necessary during assembly, the parts work for me but may require some modification.
Assembly:
- Disassemble G305 by following a YouTube guide.
- Place G305 main PCB, lens, and power switch cover into base. Attach with smaller PCB screws from G305. Ensure the scroll wheel is centered on the posts and
- Attach Left and Right mouse button PCB's to the main PCB and adhere to main PCB using through holes as guidance. I used UV adhesive to attach these, however super glue should work well if you use it sparingly. If you need a section to cure faster, use the heat and moisture of your breath by exhaling onto it.
- Insert the Battery wires and place a AAA in the battery holder. I use a lithium USB-C rechargeable one to cut weight.
- Place front and back buttons in the top shell in their respective places and then insert the side button PCB until the switches are at the center of the buttons. Adhere in place with a dot of adhesive on either side.
- Attach side button PCB to main PCB and close the mouse. Using 4 screws from the G305, attach the bottom shell in place.
- Add skates, grip tape, etc.
Special thanks to those that put together the G305 PCB mounting geometry and battery holder!
