I needed to repair the handle of a zipper.  There are many designs already here and in the internet using a paperclip. None of those happened to match the collection of paperclips I had in my desk drawer, or I did not like the design.

So I took up the challenge, and designed one myself just for fun and as an exercise. (Thanks Autodesk to make Fusion 360 available for free for personal use)

You can measure the dimensions of the paperclip (see the pictures) you have, modify the user parameters in the Fusion 360 design, et voila, you have your customised zipper handle. Of course you can also change the embossing with your own text or icon. Basically you can modify the design in anyway you like, as long as you publish and share your design.

Be aware though! I did test the design with several dimensions, but there is no safeguard against inconsistent numbers, nor did I check all possibilities.

The .stl and .gcode files are just an example. They will likely not match the paperclips you have in your drawer…….

Advantage: It is only one small print.

Disadvantage:  I found is that the “latch” easily breaks due to the printing orientation  for not having to need supports. Also it is “single use” Put the paperclip on the zipper before you slide the clip over it….!
