The previous model worked well, but I realized how much nicer it would have been if it were motorized for 3D scanning. So, this is with the addition of gear teeth to allow an external motor drive. The bottom now has holes punched out at different distances from the edge to allow some fine-tuning of motor positioning. This assumes that there will be rubber/felt pads added to the bottom to allow the motor mount the slip through.
Motor mount is designed for a cheap little $2 motor from aliexpress. Link below may become outdated over time. Here's the motor spec:
Voltage: DC 3V (can be powered by single AA battery at 1.5V)
Material: Metal
Model: N20
Revolving Speed: 50RPM
Total Length: 36mm
Motor Size: 12mm(diameter)*26mm(height)
Shaft Size: 3mm(diameter)*10mm(length)
Printed with PLA. Print with random z-seam or a few passes of sandpaper over the BB tracks will help it spin smoother.
