Some equipment in my shop uses M8 socket head cap screws which are prone to collect metal shavings and other junk in the hex socket. I made these socket plugs to put into the socket hole - they do not keep junk from collecting, but they make it simple to remove as all of the junk comes out when the plug is removed.

This was made specifically for an M8 SHCS, but could likely be scaled to fit other socket screws as long as they are not too small.

The plugs are designed to be easily removed using needle nose pliers. The plugs are flush to the top of the socket so they do not interfere with any other components.
