This is a printable spool to be used with PrintBed Filament. The spool is made in a way to insert into the spool core. I had tried to use just the adapter by philltran but found it to be way too tight to fit inside the spool and found PrintBed spool cores to be about 3mm too short to work properly on Bambu reusables. My original thought was to just make a spacer but that's halfway to a spool anyways, so I went and got Bambu's file for a printable spool, and philltran's core adapter and went to work. First, I had to get the core to fit the spools. After some tinkering with scale, I was able to get it to work. then I took the spool files and lightened them, then added the core adapter to one side. 5 versions later it was finally ready. These spools fit nicely in the AMS and as far as I've tested have no issues the cardboard spools have when retracting or feeding.

Update 4/24

I've now run a full roll of filament in my AMS with these spools along with several others that haven't been used up yet. 0 issues from the spool in the AMS. However removing the spool core from the spool afterwards is a bit difficult.

Update 9/06

I've been running these spools for a while now and have had no issues with them, as some have mentioned removing the core from the spool is rather difficult, I've found that when printed at 100% in ABS it's much easier while still allowing good tension, so I recommend printing them at 99.5% if you're going to print them in PLA and are having issues removing the core, this should make it a little easier while still providing enough friction to keep the core from spinning.

My Print Settings:

5 Walls

5 Top and bottom Layers

these settings made the spools nice and stiff with very little flex.
